Résumé

Cet article introductif présente le concept de violence bureaucratique comme une manière en partie nouvelle de comprendre et d'analyser les rencontres des réfugiés avec les structures bureaucratiques au sein des autorités et des organisations. La violence ou la menace de violence fait inévitablement partie de l'expérience de la plupart des personnes déplacées de force. Dans ce numéro spécial, nous soulignons comment les bureaucraties en tant qu'institutions sociales, outre le fait qu'elles permettent l'accès aux droits, ont également un impact sur les réfugiés, qui se traduit par des contraintes, des humiliations, des pertes d'âme et, parfois, une mise en danger de leur vie. Nous présentons les fondements théoriques du terme "violence bureaucratique" et, par conséquent, le cadre conceptuel qui relie les différentes études de cas incluses.
